What began as a 200 sq. ft. operation in 1984 has since expanded to a 7,000 sq. ft. business flourishing in Midtown, Anchorage. The Look offers unique adult novelties, toys, massage oils, and adult videos. For some, we are a mere destination for gag gifts and bachelorette party items. However, many customers see us as a knowledgeable destination to discreetly purchase the latest in fun items that spice up those long Alaskan nights.
We started as a small shop on Kodiak Island in the early 80’s, and almost in a flash we moved to the corner of Spenard and Benson in the old Anchorage Firehouse. The Look launched its lingerie business by manufacturing silk robes and gowns in Hong Kong, but influences from the markets in London, NY, and LA made us realize where our real passions were.
In the early 90’s, The Look moved into an upscale location that is still our home today! After moving the lingerie and adult novelties upstairs, we found that customers enjoyed this more discreet shopping experience. When you’re satisfied there, AK Smoke and Vape is downstairs with every pipe, vaporizer, t-shirt, and novelty you might need.
When The Hole Look moved next door, we became a unique one-stop shopping location, expanding our business to tattoos, body-piercing, and permanent makeup.
